125D CELL. This
cell holds an old man.
Madden the
Mender, Neutral male human Magic-User (AC 10; MV 12”; MU5; hp 12;
#AT 1; D By weapon type; S 6, I 11, W 13, D 10, C 9, Ch 14; XP 222)
Madden is quite
limited. He can use the spell Mending as often as he likes,
without the need for spell components or memorization, but he can not
cast any other spell. He was once a promising magic-user, but his
tale is long and sad.
He
was walking in the forest one day when he tore his robe on a thorn
bush. He was kneeling down and using the Mending
spell on his robe when the forest goddess Foglia danced into view
with her retinue of holy maidens naked. Madden tried to look away
but it was too late, he had seen them. Foglia said “Who is
this man before us?”. Madden replied, “I'm only mending my
robe”. Foglia then announced “Then may you mend and only mend
forever!” and to this day, he has been cursed to only know the
spell Mending.
Madden
found work in the service of Vosmus Triskelion but one day he forgot
to mend his employer's pants and they tore during a feast, resulting
in great embarrassment for Vosmus and imprisonment for Madden.
It
would be possible for Madden's curse to be reversed, but it will
require a wish or
alter reality
spell, or for Madden to perform a great service in the name of the
goddess Foglia to win her forgiveness.
