Inner Ward Second Floor Published by & Magazine!

I am happy to say that & Magazine has put out another issue of Castle Triskelion. The team of Bryan Fazekas and Handley Jackson did a great job editing and improving the work. Ronald Redmond is helping to spread the word about the new issue and as always the cover art is by Robin Irwin.

You can find it at the link to the right.

Updating Maps, New Level PDF Expected Soon, Links to Castle Triskelion

I will be fixing the maps to the right. I am creating blogger pages so that the maps should be easier to open. Every time I open up photobucket it takes forever. Now all you will have to do is click on the map and 'view image' on your browser. You should be able to download the maps. Let me know if it isn't working out. All the Upper Dungeons are fixed already.

When I finish this level, there will be a Sublevel 3A, then I'm going to The Grounds, which is like the back yard of the Castle.

& Magazine and I have been working on putting out more pdfs for the Inner Ward. I really appreciate Brian and Handley's work. I realize that they are spending a tremendous amount of their time putting out a free magazine and I hope it is as appreciated by the rest of the OSR (and mainstream RPG) community as much as it is by me. I'll let you know as we get closer to finishing the editing and are ready to post it at & Magazine.

Next, it has been already two months (!) since Jens at Disoriented Ranger sent me a shout out here. Thanks! I appreciate it so much. There are a couple of sites listing megadungeons that have linked me:

http://therustybattleaxe.blogspot.com/p/dungeon-links.html

http://quasarknight.blogspot.com/2016/03/a-comprehensive-list-of-megadungeons.html

There's a few more out there. I apologize if I didn't link back to you.

Castle Triskelion Inner Ward Ground Floor and New Materials II available at & Magazine

Well, its that time again. & Magazine has published the next installment of Castle Triskelion. This is the Ground Floor of the Inner Ward. Included are 67 encounter areas and some new illustrations by me.

Then there is New Materials Part II, where the monsters, magic items, etc. are explained. There are quite a few new monsters this time around and I did a bunch of illustrations.

Thanks go out to Bryan Fazekas and Handley Jackson for editing and formatting, Robert Irwin for the cover art, and Ron Redmond for public relations. Download the Inner Ward Ground Floor and New Materials II by following the link to & Magazine in the upper right corner of the blog!

Castle Triskelion Outer Ward Third Floor Published at & Magazine

Good News. Last night the Third Floor of the Outer Ward was published over at & Magazine. Bryan Fazekas and Handley Jackson did the editing, Robin Irwin provided the cover, and Ron Redmond takes care letting people know it's out there.

The Fourth and Fifth Floors of the Inner Ward are ready to get blogged and the maps have been reworked. I am revisiting the Upper Dungeons, which will get blogged after the top floors.

Enjoy the pdf.

Castle Triskelion Outer Ward Second Floor published at & Magazine

I am happy to announce that the Second Level of the Outer Ward has been published over at & Magazine. The usual thanks go to Bryan Fazekas for editing/layout, Handley Jackson for editing, and Robin Irwin for allowing us to use his art for the cover. There are also a few new illustrations done by myself. I have probably been neglecting Ron Redmond, who does the Public Relations work for & Magazine. Just want to let you know Ron that you are appreciated!

The next level of the blog, Third Floor of the Inner Ward, will start on March 2. I have done extensive reworking on the map, and will update it when the rooms start being blogged. Let's just say there will be 106 rooms instead of the 45 that show right now.

Even though a wandering monsters list will come out on March 2, I will hold off on putting out stats for the new monsters until they show up in the rooms, to avoid crowding at the beginning of March.

Thanks for reading and enjoy!

Lower Level of Outer Ward is published.

I'm happy to report that the next level of the dungeon has been published over at & Magazine. This time it is the Lower Level of the Outer Ward, where you will find undead, an ogre lair, and a foul temple.  Thanks got to Handley Jackson and Bryan Fazekas for editing and to Robin Irwin for the cover.  I have included some interior art.  The next level to be published will be the Second Floor.

As usual it is a free download.

What I've been up to. A new map and revising some old posts.

It may not seem that way, but a lot has been going on behind the scenes at Castle Triskelion. Bryan Fazekas over at & Magazine asked me about a side-view map, something I have been thinking about for a while anyway. After a bit of pestering I put this together:

I'll put it in the sidebar with the others.

Meanwhile, I went back to the Outer Ward Ground Level and tried to correct any minor mistakes I saw in each room. I also added stat-blocks and I have discovered the joy of linking my posts to each other. Bear with me, I'm still learning. Ultimately it would be nice if people were able to run the dungeon from online and I hope my efforts make it easier to do so. Over the next few weeks to months I will update the other levels I've already blogged as well.

I'm pleased to announce we will soon have another pdf available from the & Magazine download site. We are working on the Lower Level of the Outer Ward. I added some more art and I hope you all enjoy it.  These actually require a lot of editing, but I will be surprised if it doesn't come out sometime next week.

First Floor Outer Ward PDF available for download at & Magazine

The PDFs for the Outer Ward First Floor and New Materials Volume 01 are available at the & Magazine website, with a link available on the right.

The Outer Ward First Floor document covers the encounter keys to be found on that level. The New Materials Volume 01 document includes all of the new monsters, magic items, etc. that you will need to run all the levels of the Outer Ward. As I publish more levels, we will continue to produce  supplements to cover them.

Thanks to Bryan Fazekas and Handley Jackson for editing. Robin Irwin provided the cover and I even made an interior illustration!

FUTURE PLANS AND CURRENT PROJECTS.

Looking to the future, I will begin blogging about the Cellars sub-level below the Inner Ward Ground Level on the 18th, in just a few days. After that, I will either do the next sub-level, the Sewers, or I will go up to the First Floor of the Inner Ward. Haven't decided yet.

The maps for the Cellars and Sewers were revamped to include new areas. Take a look at them on the right, if you wish. As mentioned before, I switched everything over to photobucket.com, and having received no complaints. So that is where they will stay for now.

Bryan Fazekas, the editor over at & Magazine, has been editing the next levels of the Outer Ward that I sent him. They should be coming out soon in PDF format along with a supplement with all the New Monsters and Magic Items from the Outer Ward. As always, this content is and will remain 100% free.

Friday Night Fights is one of the most popular things on the blog and it has been neglected for too long. They are time-intensive and have languished lately. Hopefully, I will get one done by Friday. In any case my plan is for them to come back.

I was interviewed by The Examiner online magazine recently.

Well that is it for now. I hope you continue to enjoy the blog. As always if you have any comments of suggestions, you can send me an email or type below.

& Magazine to publish Triskelion

 Art by Robin Irwin

It took a while but thanks to Bryan Fazekas and Robin Irwin, the PDFs should be available this weekend.  Bryan intends to publish them tomorrow, I am told.

We ran into a problem when the first cover artist was unable to complete the assignment.  I added a link to the & Magazine Castle Triskelion page on the upper right.
