The
ravenous wagglepede is an ambush predator, laying in wait in rubble
or refuse until it encounters fleshy prey. When it does detect a
meal, it reveals itself and immediately begins a sinuous motion
resembling a dance, waggling its long legs in waves. This hypnotic
movement is so entrancing that observers must roll versus spells
every round that they observe the wagglepede or become inert, able
only to follow the movements of the creature. Meanwhile, the
wagglepede is free to use its length to attack with a horrid bite,
selecting a victim randomly each round. Observers stating they wish
to avert their gaze from the wagglepede's dance attack at a -4
penalty.
The
wagglepede's body is rubbery and pliant, making it resistant to blunt
force trauma.
Description:
The wagglepede resembles an overgrown, extremely long relative of
the centipede. Its thickness is relatively small compared to its
great length, perhaps three inches in diameter. The legs are very
long, tapering as they approach the head, which is graced with
impressive mouthparts.
