CAVE ECOSYSTEM. This irregular cave is naturally lighted by the
presence of phosphorescent lichen and fungi on the ceiling and walls.
Ceiling height varies between six and eight feet. Thousands of
flightless, hairless pink bats crawl across the ceiling, eating the
plant material and small insect life found therein. Several dry
shelves are here, upon which blue-shelled miniature turtles rest. The
water contains creepy but harmless black worms, measuring between six
inches and three feet in length and wide around as a quarterstaff.
